Q: What is the museum's mission?
A: Laguna Art Museum is an American museum with a focus on art from California.
Q. Is there a place to park my car?
A. There is ample metered parking immediately adajcent to the Museum and non-metered parking on the east side of Pacific Coast Highway. The Museum does not have a parking lot. There is a free shuttle service available for visitors during the summer months. Beginning in late June through the end of August, the shuttle routes operate seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Click here for more information.
Q. Is photography permitted in the Museum?
A. The use of photography (video equipment or cameras) is not permitted anywhere in the Museum.
Q. Are baby strollers permitted in the Museum?
A. The use of baby strollers is permitted in the Museum.
Q. Can I use my credit to pay for admission?
A. Yes. The Museum accepts MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.
Q. Is there a place to eat in the Museum?
A. The Museum does not have a restaurant on site however there are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance serving a variety of food. Please visit our restaurant partner next door, Las Brisas.
Q. Is the Museum wheelchair accessible?
A. Yes.
Q. Does the Museum authenticate or appraise works of art?
A. No. The Museum is unable to authenticate, appraise, or perform appraisals of works of art for the public. We suggest that you contact the Appraisers Association of America to get more information of types of appraisals.
Q. Would the Museum be interested in acquiring works of art or accepting proposals for exhibitions?
A. The Museum´s curatorial staff is always interested in reviewing works of art for acquisition or exhibition that fit within the Museum´s mission as a museum of American art with a focus on California. Due to the volume of requests, we regret that we cannot do so in person nor can we accept original art works for consideration without making prior arrangements. Museum Tours
How to Schedule a Tour
Call (949) 494-8971 ext.207 or email Jaqueline Bunge, Tour Director. Please have the following information available: • School/group name • Name of contact person • Your address and telephone number • Number of people in the group and the number of adult chaperones • Grade level or age of the group • Preferred date and time • Have alternate dates and times in case your first choice is not available • Any special needs
Guided Group Tours
Laguna Art Museum is delighted to schedule a docent-guided tour for your group. We offer guided tours for groups of ten to sixty visitors. Tours are designed to be interactive, age appropriate, and last approximately one hour. Reservations are required three weeks in advance of your visit. Call (949) 494-8971 ext.207.
Walk-in Tours
Walk-in tours feature highlights from the Museum’s current exhibitions. These tours are conducted by experienced docents and begin at 2 p.m. in the Museum Lobby on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Please notify the tour program coordinator if you are bringing a group of ten or more to this tour. Call (949) 494-8971 ext.207.
School Tours
Over 5,000 students come to Laguna Art Museum each year to learn about our diverse collection and exhibitions. Teachers have the option of planning a guided or self-guided museum visit. Many groups bring sack lunches and eat in scenic Heisler Park, just a few steps from the Museum. Reservations are required three weeks in advance of your visit. Call (949) 494-8971 ext.207.
Self-Guided Tours
Self-guided groups are welcome, but please make a reservation in advance for large groups to ensure accessibility to gallery spaces. Self-guided groups must provide one chaperone for every ten children and are required to stay together at all times.
